Chocolate-Orange Cookies

Ingredients

1 3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
3/8 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup date sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tbs grated orange zest
3 tbs grand marnier or orange juice

Prep

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and cocoa.
In a large bowl beat butter with electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Add sugars, beat until smooth.
Beat in vanilla and egg, then orange zest and liquor or juice.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Drop batter by teasponfulls, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated 325 oven 8-10 minutes until firm to the touch.
Let cool slightly on baking sheet, then finish coolong on wire rack.
Keep in a airtight container up to one week.
