1 large onion, chopped
2 tsp ginger
2 tbs butter
1/2 tsp cardomon
2 14.5 oz cans chicken broth
2 10 oz packages frozen peas
Cook onion and ginger in butter until soft. Add cardomom. Stir for 30 seconds.
Add broth and peas. Bring to a boil and simmer 10-15 minutes until very tender.
Puree and season with salt and pepper.
The soup is also delicious just using the peas and broth.
